In order to improve their hands by creating valid combinations, players alternately draw cards from the discard or stockpile piall teen pattile. Each player is dealt a certain number of cards at the beginning of the game, typically seven or ten, depending on the rules that have been established. With the top card facing up to start the discard pile, the remaining cards make up the stockpile.
