  • Three or more cards in a sequence are of the same suit, while a set is made up of three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. Players start the game with thirteen cards apiece. The remaining cards are arranged face down on the table to form the draw pile. To begin the discard pile, the top card from this pile is turned face up.
