The card game Gin Rummy, sometimes referred to as Rummy Gold, has been around since the early 1900s and is a hugely popular pastime. Its roots are in the Mexican card game Cindian game apponquian, which was probably brought to America by immigrants from Mexico. The game, which went by the name "Gin Rummy," became extremely popular in the US in the 1940s & 1950s. Even now, this name is still frequently used. Gin Rummy gained popularity over the course of the 20th century and became a beloved past time for individuals of all ages.
